Enrollment instructions for CU Online, Capital Credit Union’s online platform, were included in your member packet. Please DO NOT register/enroll in CU Online until the merger with Capital Credit Union goes into effect on Monday, April 1; your account balances will not show correctly until that date.
IMPORTANT MEMBER INFORMATION
Flasher Community Credit Union’s name will officially change to Capital Credit Union on April 1. In addition, this website (flashercreditunion.org) will redirect to the Capital Credit Union website (capcu.org) beginning April 1.
Starting Monday, March 18, packets for Flasher Community Credit Union primary members will be available for pickup at Flasher Community Credit Union. If you are a joint member on a primary account, you may pick up the packet for the account’s primary member. If you are a designated Power of Attorney for a primary member and we have a signed Power of Attorney on file, you may pick up the packet for the account’s primary member. Any packets not picked up at Flasher Community Credit Union by the end of the day on Friday, March 22, will be mailed to the residential address we have on file on Monday, March 25.
Packets include all applicable information you will need to conduct business starting Monday, April 1, when the merger with Capital Credit Union goes into effect, including:
- CAPITAL CREDIT UNION MEMBERSHIP CARDS
- CAPITAL CREDIT UNION DEBIT CARD(S)
- DO NOT ACTIVATE OR USE CAPITAL CREDIT UNION DEBIT CARD(S) UNTIL APRIL 1
- From 5 p.m. on March 29 through March 31, per-day spending on your Flasher Community Credit Union debit card will be limited due to the maintenance required to merge accounts.
- Flasher Community Credit Union debit card(s), will not work on or after April 1.
- If you currently have a Flasher Community Credit Union debit card(s), please destroy it on April
- Capital Credit Union debit card(s) should be used beginning April 1.
- Your PIN will arrive separately via USPS.
- CAPITAL CREDIT UNION CHECKS
- Capital Credit Union checks should be used beginning April 1.
- While ACH payments and direct deposits will temporarily be routed to your new Capital Credit Union account, we encourage you to update ACH payments and direct deposits as soon as possible after April 1.
- If you currently have Flasher Community Credit Union checks, please destroy them on April 1.
- DO NOT USE FLASHER COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION CHECKS ON OR AFTER APRIL 1

- Your current Online Account Access will cease on March 29, after which, you can enroll in CU Online, Capital Credit Union’s online platform.
Merger Approved
A special meeting of the members of Flasher Community Credit Union was held at the Flasher Branch on Feb. 12, 2024. The purpose of the meeting was to consider and act upon a proposal for merging Flasher Community Credit Union with and into Capital Credit Union. Via mail-in ballot and in-person voting, more than 83% of the voting Flasher Community Credit Union members chose to approve the merger.
Next, a special meeting of the members of Capital Credit Union will be held Feb. 15, 2024, to consider and act upon the proposal for merging Flasher Community Credit Union into Capital Credit Union.
Finally, the merger requires regulatory approval by the NCUA (National Credit Union Administration) and North Dakota State Credit Union Board. Approval was received by NCUA on Nov. 8, 2023. North Dakota State Credit Union Board approval is completed after the votes of both Credit Union memberships. Pending this approval, the merger will be effective April 1, 2024.
